Rebuttal to USA Today Article

October 11th, 2011

Angelo Cuzalina message

A Message from Dr. Angelo Cuzalina, AACS President

USA Today recently published articles jeopardizing the safety of the public considering cosmetic surgery. The article was filled with false information that may mislead patients regarding how to choose a cosmetic surgeon. AACS, along with the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (ABCS), Cosmetic Surgery Foundation (CSF), and the cosmetic surgeons who represent the specialty of cosmetic surgery on the American Medical Association (AMA) House of Delegates have sent a rebuttal to USA Today.

The AACS is working diligently behind the scenes to join forces with other organizations who also found the piece offensive, to develop a strategic plan for the most appropriate response. The academy has always been positive and proactive for safety in cosmetic surgery.
