Laser Skin Resurfacing – BEAUTY BY DESIGN, Las Vegas

Dear Prospective Patient,
Thank you very much for your inquiry regarding facial rejuvenation, specifically cosmetic laser skin resurfacing.
I have over 18 years of experience performing laser skin resurfacing procedures. I completed a residency and
fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center and remained as a clinical professor for seven years. I am
quadruple board certified including the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and the
American Board of Cosmetic Surgery. I practice in Laguna Beach, California, known as the Center of Excellence in
Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery. I am a physician trainer on the carbon dioxide laser known as DOT
therapy, which is manufactured by DEKA.
The DOT (Dermal Optical Thermolysis) fractional CO2 skin resurfacing laser device has been shown in a direct,
side by side comparison, published in a peer-reviewed scientific journal of the top ten fractional lasers to be the
best skin resurfacing laser in the world today. (Waibel J, et al. Preliminary Observations on Fractional Ablative
Resurfacing Devices: Clinical Impressions. Journal of Drugs in Dermatology 2009;8(5):481-485).
Laser Skin Therapy or Laser Skin Resurfacing offers fast and affordable results with only mild discomfort under
topical anesthesia augmented with facial trigeminal nerve blocks. The laser improves your skin’s appearance by
reducing and even eliminating wrinkles, lines, areas of pigmentation or age spots (solar elastosis), and surgical
and acne scarring.
I presented my results at the December 2010 Anti-Aging Medicine annual meeting. According to the president of
DEKA North America, it is the largest study in the United States. The overall patient satisfaction rate in 100
consecutive patients was 97%. We have currently treated 178 patients with this laser device. Most patients
(90%) required one treatment, 7% needed two treatment sessions and only 3% three treatment sessions, to
achieve the patient’s satisfaction with the skin outcome.
It is mildly uncomfortable during the procedure (3 out of 10 in pain scale), less than 1% of patients need
narcotics after the treatment day. There is mild swelling for 4-5 days, skin dryness resulting in 3-5 day duration
of skin peeling and two to three weeks of mild pink hue to the skin. This rapid recovery allows patients to return
to the normal daily activities as soon as possible, with no to minimal skin scabbing and without compromising
the outcome. Woman may wear makeup in 4-5 days after the procedure.
During your initial free consultation, we will discuss your concerns. I have before and after DOT laser skin
resurfacing patient photographs and an educational video at www.drtroell.com for you to review. I look forward
to meeting you.
Sincerely & Respectfully,
Robert J Troell,MD, FACS
