Thank you very much for your inquiry regarding abdominoplasty surgery, also known as a “tummytuck”. The two options for body contouring of the abdomen and hip area include: 1. body liposcultping (removing fatty tissue) 2. abdominoplasty (removing both fatty tissue and excess skin).
I have 16 years experience in the field of plastic and reconstructive surgery with completion of residency and fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center and remained there as a clinical professor for seven years. I am founder and director of the Center for Advanced Liposuction in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Dr Troell is known as an expert by his peers and is a national trainer for two techniques in body contouring. He has presented multiple presentations and training courses in the last several years:
Body contouring live surgery workshop, February 2011; American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, Scottsdale, AZ, January 2011; Body contouring live surgery workshop, Laguna Beach, CA, October 2010; Body contouring live surgery workshop, Palo Alto, CA, July 2010; Body contouring live surgery workshop, Newport Beach, CA, February 2010; Water-jet assisted liposuction, and facial fat grafting, California Society of Facial Plastic Surgery, 2010 Winter Forum on Latest Advances in Facial Plastic Surgery, Lake Tahoe, California, February 2010; Water-jet assisted liposuction, body & face fat grafting, California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, 11th Annual Conference, Liposuction Update 2010, San Diego, California, October 2009).
If the amount of excess skin is predicted not to tighten satisfactory from liposuction alone, excision of fatty tissue and skin will be recommended. Standard or traditional abdominoplasty is performed under general anesthesia with a low abdominal incision with suturing of the abdominal muscle.
Avelar abdominoplasty uses liposuction to thin the abdominal tissue and then excise excess skin under tumescent anesthesia with oral sedation supplemented by mild intravenous sedation. The recovery with the Avelar abdominoplasty is longer than liposuction with three to seven days requiring narcotic medication, however, much shorter than traditional abdominoplasty. The Avelar tummy tuck can expect mild bruising and swelling and patients can return to work much sooner, often within five to ten days. Dr Troell works with other specialists to provide a safe and aesthetically pleasing result.
During your initial free consultation, we will discuss your aesthetic concerns and discuss your treatment options. Please continue browsing our website.
I look forward to meeting you in my office.
