Honors and Awards

Dr. Troell received the prestigious “Certificate of Honor” award from the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery Foundation for his dedication and distinguished service in the scientific programs, exhibits, continuing education courses and instructional courses.

During his twelve year tenure with the US Navy he received the prestigious “Meritorious Service Medal” for rescuing a civilian trapped under the rubble of a fallen building in the aftermath of an earthquake. During his military service he also received the National Defense Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Fleet Marine Force Ribbon, Pistol Expert Award, Humanitarian Service Medal and a Meritorious Unit Commendation.

He received the Honors Surgical Course Award in medical school with only six other recipients and was chosen as a member of the transplantation and procurement team.

He graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Florida. He was amember of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, Alpha Epsilon Delta Honor Society and Dean’s List throughout undergraduate school.
